Why would I spend so much time writing articles about the Roman Catholic Church organization? What is my motive in doing so, and is it pure before God? Finish this article, and then you judge for yourself.
I know many people who are Roman Catholics. A few of them take it very seriously. Others not so seriously, while some care nothing much about it. It is just something they do once in a while, a kind of Fire or Life Insurance policy, if you will. This is not unique to the Roman Catholic Church. Many Christian churches have these categories of “believers.” In all cases, they need to hear the truth while there is yet time to get right with God. Physical death is the end of our probationary period. Death is not our savior; Jesus Christ is. Purgatory is a fiction made up to enslave people. If we are to be saved, it must be now before we die. Praise God, that He gives us many “second” chances. But there are no “second” changes after we leave this world. I fear for your soul if you believe that you will be able to get right with God after you die.
Christians are commanded to speak the truth in love. Only the truth will set us free from sin and death. Could it be that my motive for writing is love? We all know that those who express great feelings of affection toward loved ones never tell the truth to them. Is that love? It is certainly not Biblical love.
Because people, in general, are so unteachable, especially in the religious world, it is best to have low expectations about convincing anyone to find a congregation of believers that will teach the Bible. With all the supposedly born-again Christians in the USA, why is it that our culture continues to look more and more like Sodom and Gomorrah? Has the salt lost its savor? Has the light been extinguished? Is there any real hope of national repentance?
Several times, I have been told by a Catholic that, “I can’t do anything about this now, because I have believed in the Catholic religion all my life.” If someone believes something for many years, does that make it accurate? For about 2000 years, the world thought that the Earth was the center of the universe. Galileo and Copernicus proved that to be false. People are reluctant to change even in the face of evidence that demands a change. Believing something for an extended period doesn’t make it accurate or true. Obviously.
But believing something for a very long time does make it hard to reject. Only those who love the truth, for its own sake, and more than anything else, will change what they believe when it is found to be in error. I wonder, how many ‘Christians’ really do love the truth? God is the truth, and if we do not love all truth, that must mean we do not love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength (The first and greatest commandment). Can it be any other way?
In the very first article written in June of 2023, Part 1-False Teaching, I wrote about the doctrinal reasons why I left the Roman Catholic Church. The single most important error of the Roman Catholic Church is their rejection of the Bible as the “Final Authority.” Rejecting this truth has produced all of the other false teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
The Roman Catholic Church believes that tradition and the teaching of its leadership, especially the Pope, are even more important than the Word of God. That is why the Catholic church continues to add new doctrinal requirements over time. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the Catholic Church added some new dogmas to its beliefs. Some of them were about Mary. All of them were based on tradition and are in direct conflict with the Bible. They are all false teachings. If you believe the Word of God, the Bible, is the “Final Authority.” There is no compromise on this point. The Roman Church claims to be the final authority on matters of faith and practice, not the Bible. Many born-again Christians have paid with their property and lives for refusing to agree to this Catholic dogma. Murdering those who disagree with you, does that sound like something that Jesus Christ and the apostles would approve of?
Making human traditions the final authority makes truth relative and situational. Truth becomes mutable and fluid. But God’s truth is absolute, immutable, and exclusive as He is absolute, unchangeable, and exclusive.
In my first article, I attempted to refute, from scripture, all of the most essential false Catholic doctrines that compelled me to leave the Roman Catholic Church. Bottom line is that I believe that Jesus Christ and the gospel of the Roman Catholic Church are not the Jesus Christ and the gospel of the Bible. Rome has created a counterfeit Jesus and a false gospel.
In the second article, Part 2, The Bible Canon, the focus was on the origin of the Bible and whether it can be trusted. The importance of the Canon represents the importance of truth. From the very beginning of creation, truth has been under attack. Most so-called Christians like to pick and choose the truths that they will believe in and practice. Unfortunately for them, the truth is a unit. It all must be received, and we do not get to pick and choose what we will conform to. Real Christians believe that God is the truth and that He has spoken to us, and those words are recorded for us in the Bible.
The Bible is unique among all ancient manuscripts. There is no other book like it in all history. Christians believe the Bible is a God breathed word to humanity, and that it is a supernatural book. Just about every “Christian” denomination accepts the fundamental canon consisting of 66 books of the Old and New Testaments.
Some churches have added additional books to that number, and some teach that only the leaders of their church are qualified to interpret the Word of God. The Mormons call themselves Christian and have added five books on Mormonism to their canon. The Roman Catholic Church has added tradition and the magisterium to its Bible, as well as a few books from the Apocrypha. And if there is a conflict between them, Catholic teaching and tradition trump the Bible. All of this adding and subtracting to the Word of God creates doubt about what God has said and what God has commanded. It ultimately destroys trust and confidence in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The central issue is what you believe and what you put into practice. You can have 66 canonical books or make up your canon of extra books, but do you live like you believe in them? And if your additional books, traditions, and teachings of your leadership contradict what just about every other Christian accepts as canon (the 66 books), then are you faithful to the foundational 66 books of truth? If not, you are most likely deceived by tradition, the teachings of leaders, or the additional books you think are part of the real canon. Remember the following quote, especially the highlighted portion, for its importance can’t be overstated.
“Dr. Herman C. Hoskier’s unprecedented collation of these two “older and better” manuscripts led him to conclude the following. Dr. Hoskier stated that these two manuscripts in particular, plus their forerunners, with Origen who revised the Antioch text (the KJV Greek text type), are in fact Egyptian revisions of Scripture around 200 to 400 AD. He also states that these readings (two older manuscripts) were not used by Bible believing Christians between 500 and 1881 AD or for around 1,400 years.” (See Dr. Grady’s book, Final Authority.
Dr. Grady quotes Dr. Hoskier, who states that for 1,400 years, the real Church of Jesus Christ was committed to the canon of 66 books, which is still used today in most, not all, Christian churches. And this group of 66 books came down to us from the Church in Antioch, Syria, which faithfully preserved the Word of God, both Old and New Testaments, from the time of Jesus and the apostles. Late in the fourth century, the canon was finally closed because the majority of Christians accepted these books of the Bible, and two councils affirmed that decision.
Early on, the Word of God was doubted, denied, and attacked. And this is still going on today. The Roman Catholic Church has 1) made the Word of God subordinate to the Pope, traditions, and their teachings, and 2) implemented strategies to undermine the authority and credibility of the Bible as the final authority. The Roman Church believes that it, and not the Bible, is the final authority.
In the following article, Part 3, The Assault on the Bible, we considered many of the ways the Bible has been and is currently being attacked. How has the Roman Catholic Church been involved in this continuous assault to destroy trust and confidence in the Word of God? The Catholic Church has provided much of the leadership in this constant assault. But why? The Bible is a threat to their domination of Christian peoples, which is their ultimate goal.
Many ways are being used by the Roman Catholic Church (and others), even today, to undermine the importance, authority, and credibility of the Bible as the inerrant, infallible word of God. Here are a few of the strategies:
- persecute those whose final authority is the Word of God;
- convince everyone that the Bible is just like any other ancient manuscript and that it is not a supernatural book from the Creator; and,
- find or create (using lies, fraud, or forgery) discoveries that question the historicity and truths of Scripture. (That would include discoveries of ancient manuscripts as well as fossils, which are explained best by evolution, not the Bible.)
In Part 4, Persecution, we looked into the specifics regarding the persecution of Bible believing Christians, over the centuries, by the Roman Catholic Church organization. If Roman Catholic persecution were a momentary failure, it would be easier to understand and excuse. That is not the case. It was not a momentary shortcoming, but an evil practice over many centuries. It represented the character and nature of the leaders and the Roman Catholic organization.
The Roman Catholic Church organization, because it views itself as the final authority, has taken the place of God. Pretending to be God and judge, the Roman church decided that heretics (those Christians who refuse to swallow the unbiblical teachings of the Roman Catholic Church) must be convinced to recant or die.
For the first few centuries, Christian persecution was by the Jews and the Roman Empire, not other so-called “Christians.” All that changed after Constantine the Great made Christianity a legal religion in the Roman Empire. Not long after that, the Roman Empire made Christianity the official state religion. This is when, in 385, the Roman Catholic religion started to show signs of life. It then began to torture and murder real Bible believing Christians, if they would not bow the knee to their commands and many compromises. If these Christians refused the other unbiblical doctrines of the church, they too would be murdered if they refused to repent.
For over 1000 years, the Roman Catholic Church organization forbade Christians from owning or reading the Bible. The Catholic Church demanded, on pain of death, that Christians not read the Bible. The reason is apparent. If ignorant Roman Catholic people ever read the Bible and thought for themselves, they would immediately understand the many false teachings (many of which were outright fraud and lies) of their Church and demand change.
Roman Catholic persecution of Bible believing and practicing Christians and others continued over many centuries from about 400 to 1900. Roman Catholic persecution of real Christians was also expressed in the Crusades and the Inquisitions up to the close of the 19th century. That is 1500 years, and it indicates the nature of the beast. It was not a momentary failure or sin but an habitual evil.
In Part 5, Our English Bible and Rome’s response, we see that the whore of Babylon continued to suppress the Bible so that the common man and woman would look to the Catholic Church for all their spiritual needs and answers. No thanks to the Roman Catholic Church, but real men of God, moved by the Spirit of God, knew how important it was for the people to have the Bible in their own language so that they could read and understand it. At every turn, Rome tried to prevent this from happening. Rome used force, coercion, fraud, bribes, deceit and deception. It is a religion that believes: the end justifies the means, even if all the tools of darkness must be employed. That is a doctrine out of hell, but a guiding light for the religion of Rome. Darkness, not light, represents the nature and character of the Roman Catholic Church and its leaders.
The article Part 6, The War on the Bible Continues, reveals the lengths to which the Roman Church went to undermine the authority of the Word of God and prevent its translation into the common language. Real Christians knew that they must produce Bibles in the language of the people. Real Christians also knew that they must expose the false teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. Rome knew that through the Jesuits and others sympathetic to Rome’s goals, it must infiltrate the Protestant world. They used bribes, fraud, forgery, lies, and trickery to move these leaders toward the Roman Catholic religion. Rome advanced 1) higher criticism of the Bible, 2) the theory of evolution, 3) the corruption of the Textus Receptus, 4) the need for a new Greek New Testament, and 5) the need for more Catholic friendly Bible translations. All this created doubt in the credibility and authority of the Bible. And nothing made the Roman Catholic organization happier.
In this article, Part 7, Dating and Textual Criticism, looks at the assumptions associated with both the dating of manuscripts, rocks, and fossils. It also considers the ‘soft science’ behind Textual Criticism that Rome and others have constantly promoted as if it were exactly like a ‘hard science’. Bottom line is that both the Roman Catholic Church and speculative ‘science’ (soft science) want us to disbelieve the Bible and trust them. A “Christian religion” that attempts to undermine the credibility and authority of the Word of God is apostate at best and counterfeit at worst. The Roman Catholic organization has been doing this for 1500 years with no end in sight. This is the character of the religion of the little horn. Is that an unfair comment?
We all must recognize the profound gullibility of the human race. Tell people that your view is ‘scientific’ and without proper evidence, most people will instantly believe whatever is being peddled. The COVID-19 vaccine is a recent example. But there are so many examples of this that the thinking person can’t dismiss this tendency in human nature. God made us to think. Not thinking will destroy many of us.
Even Christians fall for this kind of propaganda and quickly reject the teaching of the Bible if some ‘scientist’ makes a speculative statement about the age of the universe or a fossil. Belief is instantaneous even among Christians. The theory of evolution has so many holes in it that if it were a boat, it would be at the bottom of the ocean. The lesson is clear. Do not be so quick to believe a Pope, priest, pastor, theologian, scholar, or scientist. Think about what you are being told or asked to do. Question the assumptions. Do some praying and reading. Do not just believe me. I am doing my best to tell what I think is the truth, and there are very few of us.
In Part 8, The Jesuits, we see the character of the leaders of the Society of Jesus. It is not the character of a genuine man of God, which they proclaim to be. Jesuits have started wars (even into the 20th century), assassinated leaders, murdered millions of real Christians, lied, stolen, cheated, and forged documents. They will do whatever is deemed necessary by the Pope and them to advance the goals of the Roman Catholic Church organization. They exempt themselves from sin; all kinds of sins are permissible to them, but not others.
If you have read my articles, you have already heard about much of this malevolent Jesuit activity. But lest you think this is just a figment of my imagination, let us briefly look at some specific examples. These examples will be chronological and aggregated. No one is saying that the Roman Catholic Church is entirely or the only party responsible for the blood that has been spilled in the following examples. Most of the time, the Roman Catholic Church gets its proxies to do the bloody work for it. Other wicked men and women are also to be blamed, but the principle “what you do through others, you do yourself” applies to the Roman Catholic Church and all of us as individuals. Do we praise the Jesuits and the Popes for instigating the following?
- With Jesuit leadership in place, the Spanish Inquisition lasted from 1478 to 1834.
- American Revolutionary War, 1775 to 1783. Religious liberty is anathema to the Catholic monopoly.
- Civil War, 1861 to 1865, and the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States.
- The war of 1870 to 1871. “France herself declared, this ‘war of 1870, which proved by history to be the work of the Jesuits,’ as M. Gaston Bally wrote. Taken from the Book titled The Secret History of the Jesuits by Edmond Paris, page 81. This was the Franco-Prussian War or Franco-German War.
- World War 1 from 1914 to November 1918. The role of the Jesuits and Roman Catholic Church in WW I, in brief, is this. Pope Pius X did everything he could to encourage a war, urging the emperor of Austria, Francis-Joseph, to “chastise the Serbians”. It is a fantastic thing to read about how the Roman ‘Church’ could encourage the war vigorously behind the scenes and pretend to seek peace at the same time. But that is the strategy of the Jesuits: duplicity.
- World War 2 from 1939 to 1945. The role of the Jesuits and the Roman Catholic Church in this war has been highlighted already. Much primary responsibility for this war rests with the Roman Catholic organization, especially the Jesuits and the Pope at that time.
- World War 2 in Yugoslavia. Edmond Paris wrote a book entitled “Convert or Die!” This part of the Second World War went unnoticed by many. His book reveals the Satanic nature of the Society of Jesus and its leadership like no other book.
- Communism and the role of the Jesuits. At one time, the Roman Catholic Church organization was supportive of communism as it thought this could be the way to get rid of the Russian Orthodox Church entirely. Russians double-crossed the Roman Church, hence their hatred of Russia.
- . Catholic Terror In Ireland. That is the title of a book written by Avro Manhattan. He credits Rome with the blood bath in this country, all done to gain total control and be entirely Catholic, no matter the cost.
- . The Vietnam War, 1955 to April 1975. The role of the Jesuits and the Roman Catholic Church in starting, encouraging, and instigating the Vietnam War. Avro Manhattan wrote a book titled Vietnam: Why Did We Go? He said, “The Catholic Church must be considered as a main promoter in the origin, escalation, and prosecution of the Vietnamese conflict.” Most people are entirely unaware of this perspective, all based on hard evidence.
However, the besetting sin of the Jesuit Order is pride. They believe that they are above all others and claim to be “The company of the perfect.” Can you imagine Peter, Paul, or any apostle making such claims? Can you imagine any faithful follower of Jesus Christ thinking that they were exempt from the penalty of sin that all other people are held accountable for? There are many roads to hell, and the quickest and surest road to hell is the path of the Order of the Society of Jesus, the Company of the Perfect.
The Roman Catholic Church organization believes that it alone can forgive sins. To forgive sins, the Catholic Church has the sacrament of Confession. Over many centuries, this practice has been the moral and spiritual undoing of many priests, nuns, children, women, marriages, and families. It is a doctrine and practice from the pit of hell. The Jesuits have used the confessional as part of their intelligence gathering apparatus to be able to bribe, coerce, influence, and demand that political and other leaders do what the Roman Catholic Church wants done. Confession has also been used to exploit women sexually, boys, and girls for many centuries, not just the last 50 years.
The following article, Part 9, is all about the Papacy. The CEO of a business enterprise is where the buck stops. The CEO is the one person who is ultimately responsible for the business operations. The Pope is the person who is ultimately accountable for everything that goes on in the Roman Catholic Church. Is that not true?
Suppose the Pope or CEO knowingly allows sexual immorality and abuse to go on without stopping it and setting in motion safeguards to prevent it in the future. In that case, the CEO or Pope must be held responsible. For centuries, the Pope and other Roman Catholic leaders have let priests and nuns abuse children and others. It includes heterosexual and homosexual abuse. Only God knows the number of those abused over this long period. It is easy to imagine that it is in the millions. If the Pope allows the priesthood to be taken over by homosexuals, he is ultimately responsible for this. This is currently the condition of the Roman priesthood as I understand it. Is a Pope who allows and encourages evil a good Pope? Is he a man of God?
The list of wars fomented, caused, instigated, and encouraged by the Pope makes the Pope a primary responsible party. The Popes from the US Civil War, to the 1st and 2nd World Wars, to the War in Vietnam in the 1970s, and all the other wars not mentioned, are primarily responsible for the blood that has been shed. The number of lives killed in all these wars must exceed well over 150 million, I would guess. None of these wars could have happened without the express approval of the Pope of Rome. Is this the legacy of the apostles, most of whom died as martyrs for their faith in Jesus? Can any thinking person believe that the Pope is a man of God? Popes act more like the ‘man of sin’ or the ‘son of perdition’ talked about in the Bible. Doesn’t the Roman Catholic Church resemble the Whore riding the beast?
“And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. And I saw a woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.” Revelation 17:5,6, emphasis added.
The Roman Catholic Church has murdered more Bible believing Christians than any other entity that has ever existed. She is ‘drunken with the blood of the saints and the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.’ This fact is undeniable. The Catholic Church of Rome refuses to admit this because it says heretics are not saints. The Roman Catholic organization has no shame.
The number of Bible believing and practicing Christians (and others) tortured and murdered by the Roman Catholic Church is estimated at between 50 and 66 million. This period spans from 400 to the late 1800s, so that means every pope has most likely been an active part of this long campaign of murder. (Some say there are still people being executed by the Roman Catholic Church in parts of South America. I do not know about that, but check it out for yourself.
The Bible says in 1 John 3:15 that no murderer has eternal life abiding in them. Maybe the Jesuits and the Pope are exempt from murdering heretics (Bible believing Christians). What do you think? This passage states emphatically that no one guilty of murder, and is unrepentant, has eternal life abiding in them. That means they are lost souls on their way to hell. Is there such a thing as a ‘good’ murderer? If there is, we may have just found a few ‘good’ popes”! And I was thinking that there is not even one good pope.
Pope’s claim to be the Vicar of Christ on earth. They claim to be able to forgive sins and that without the Pope, no one can be saved. The popes have dethroned Jesus and enthroned Mary and introduced legions of Catholics to idolatry. Is a person who claims to be God and teaches idolatry a good person? Is he a good Pope?
Many Catholics will admit that there have been a few bad popes, but most Popes have been good, righteous ones. I have found no evidence to support that proposition. To the contrary, history demonstrates the exact opposite. Tell a big lie, often enough, loud enough, and long enough, and people will believe it. I do not know if Hitler made that statement. What I do know is the truth of it. It is amazing the lies we sheep believe.
In this article, I posed the question, “Has there ever been even one good Pope?” The article looked at a large number of evil popes. The things these evil popes did should make it clear to everyone, including Catholics, that they in no way represented Jesus Christ and the truth. They were, however, great examples of what followers of the devil look like.
Conclusions
I can hear a Catholic suggest that just because the popes and their priests have done some evil things, that doesn’t mean the Catholic religion is bad and has never done anything good. This idea, that a person or a church can be a good person or a good church, even though they do many wicked things and teach false doctrines, is fundamentally flawed. Many believe this is true, but it is not true.
“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but you were sanctified, but ye were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and by the Spirit of our God.” I Cor. 6:9-11.
The passage says that such were some of you, not such are some of you. Those born again by the Spirit of God have put off the deeds of unrighteousness and put on the deeds of righteousness. If any man is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have passed away (unrighteousness and sin), and all things have become new (holiness and righteousness). New creations in Jesus do not practice or habitually sin. Sin is an exception and not the rule.
God does not judge or grade on the curve. Despite the occasional good deeds, the criminal will be considered and judged for their crimes. The volunteer work they may have done, the contributions they may have given to their church, and the laws they have obeyed are not relevant. Neither is their supposed faith in God relevant. They stand or fall based on their criminal actions. This should be obvious. But many have the idea that, despite the centuries-long sins of the Roman Catholic Church, it is a good religion because some of the things it has done were good and helpful. Nothing could be further from the truth. Some good deeds done by the individual or church do not offset a history of murder, lying, stealing, fraud, forgery, sexual abuse of women, boys, and girls, and the fomenting of wars. Because the Roman Catholic Church has never repented of any of these many evil practices, it will be judged and condemned to hell by God.
We have already considered the many false doctrines of the Catholic Church. False teachers, bishops, Jesuits, Cardinals, and Popes will not and can’t produce good fruit. They are the bad tree, and bad trees only produce bad fruit.
I can hear Catholics comment and ask, “But the Roman Church has changed after Vatican I and II? Is that true?” If by change, you mean superficial changes, then yes, that is true. But if you mean that the Roman Catholic Church has made substantial changes, then no, it has not changed. It’s worse today, not better. More false doctrines have come from the Roman Church in the last two hundred years than in the many centuries before. While it’s true that the Roman Catholic Church may not be murdering heretics like it did when it had more power, just wait until it gains more power in the end times. Blood will flow in the streets.
If the Pope and the Roman Church had made fundamental godly changes, then we all would rejoice and praise God. But until you hear and see the Pope:
- Confess all of the many sins of the Roman Church over the last 1500 years, you know that they have not changed.
- Makes restitution in lands, cash, gold, silver, art, etc (and confession) to the Jews and many others for their crimes against them, you know they are still not repentant and are still unsaved godless counterfeit “Christians.”
- Disbands the Roman Catholic Church institution and gives away anything that remains of its assets to the poor, you know nothing has changed that makes any difference at all in eternity.
- Reveals all the hidden secrets contained in the Vatican Library, you know that nothing material has changed.
- Rejects the false doctrines of the Roman Church; you know nothing of substance has changed.
Jesus said a good tree can’t produce bad fruit and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. The Roman Catholic Church organization tree has been planted for around 1500 years and has yielded such bad fruit that there can’t be any doubt, in an objective person’s mind, about who this counterfeit church represents. Strong words to be sure, and just maybe Jesus was right when He said that you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.
I close with these words. I am not against Catholics, many of whom are decent, kind, and loving people. I am against errors and lies that come from Protestant denominations, other religions, and the Roman Catholic Church, that blind people’s hearts and minds to the truth.
